They&amp;#8217;re all so excited- I don&amp;#8217;t get it. I wish I could be as happy as they are about college starting. For me, it&amp;#8217;s still a stinging slap in the face to be stuck going here. &lt;/p&gt;

I haven&amp;#8217;t done yoga in AGES so I&amp;#8217;m super excited. I&amp;#8217;m supposed to be on my post season break of a week off, but I&amp;#8217;m only two days in and already itching to run. I think I&amp;#8217;m going to make myself rest until Monday, when I&amp;#8217;ll start biking to cross train. I&amp;#8217;ll probably hike this weekend though (be prepared for pictures!)- gotta do something to keep myself from gaining 213982347 pounds, haha.&lt;/p&gt;

I'm a track athlete (triple jump/high jump in particular) And I want to stay in shape before I begin my summer training so I was thinking of taking up running which will also help with my endurance in jumps. I was wondering if you could maybe give me a starter running workout routine or plan to go by for the next few weeks? Thanks so much!</title><description>&lt;p&gt;Hey there little buddy! Let me just say that I commend you for doing the triple jump and high jump- I’m pretty sure I would find a way to hurt myself while doing those, haha. However, I honestly don’t think I’m qualified to be giving you training advice since I only have experience with distance running.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For the triple jump and high jump, I think you’re going to want to keep your fast twitch muscle active, and doing longish runs are not going to help with that. If you want to improve your cardiovascular endurance, give jump roping a try. It’s great cross training and really gets your heart pumping. I would also do some agilities before any type of workout (high knees, butt kickers, skips, grape vines, Russian kicks, etc) and definitely get yourself started on a daily core regiment. The one I do usually takes me about 20 minutes. I’m hesitant to tell you to go out and start running a few miles a day; I think your best bet would be to talk to your coach about what you want to achieve.
